  1. Demo Recording

This short tutorial will tell you how to:
    - Record a demo
    - Find where it is located on your computer
    - Upload it to the review committee

If you are an admin and suspect someone of hacking YOU HAVE TO RECORD A DEMO before banning that person for any hacking reason whether its blatant or not or the ban will be overturned.

You will be required to make a post in the Review Committee Forum for review (you will post a link to the demo in your post) and the review committee will review the demo and make their final decision. THIS IS NOT OPTIONAL if you do not record a demo or you do not post the demo in the review committee forum the ban WILL BE OVERTURNED.

    1) Go to spectate and click the space bar a few times until you get to 1st person mode.

    2) Open your console with the ~ key (the ~ key is above Tab)

-If you do not have your console enabled hit your ESC key then click on:
Options> Keyboard Tab> Advanced at the bottom> Check off Enable developer console> OK
    >Click on apply at the bottom then close options and Press ESC to return back to the game.

    3) Enter these commands in the console while spectating player
    before recording the demo:
    sm_observe “player name”
    after you have finished recording:
    sm_endobserve

This will automatically switch your camera to the player every time they respawn, which will make it easier for you when recording the demo and also for the person reviewing it.

    4) In the Console enter: record "demo name"
(Please give your demo a name. DO NOT use the quotes or special characters, numbers, and letters only)

When you are finished recording your demo open up your console and enter: stop

All the demos you record will be stored in the Steam\steamapps\common\day of defeat source\dod folder on your local hard disk (they are . DEM files with the name you chose before recording).

    5) To upload your .DEM file for review please make a new post in the review committee section of the forums (https://www.sixthrb.com/forum/index.php?/forums/forum/22-review-committee/)

Please make sure to fill out all the details and include as much information as possible in the post to help the person reviewing the demo make a final decision in regards to perma-banning the accused player.

You can upload the demo directly to the post using the forum cloud space but if it’s full or not enough for the demo then you can use an external file hosting site like Google Drive, One Drive, or Dropbox to upload the demo which can then be shared as a link from the external site to your post.
